Social & Support Groups                         Planet Positive social nights have become a mainstay on QPP’s calendar since the first one in May 2006, regularly attracting over 50 people.  The quarterly social event is eagerly anticipated as an opportunity to get out and about, meet up with old friends and potentially meet new ones.   Planet Positive started several years as an initiative of PLWHA Victoria as a fun, social and safe night out for HIV+ people and their friends.  It then was adopted by PLWHA NSW as well as QPP to provide the same thing to PLWHA in each state.  On World AIDS Day 2007, QPP held the first Planet Positive in Cairns which is hoped will become a regular event like it is in Brisbane. This year Planet Positive will hopefully go from strength to strength, with theme nights, prizes and excellent music, as well as further development in regional areas. The next Planet Positive for 2008 is on Friday September 12th 6pm until 11pm in The Emerald Room at The Pavilion, 123 Boundary Road, West End.
